Category:Activation softwareQ: Connection between Pascal and non-block based programming Pascal is what I learned to program in, now I'm learning Python. But my question is, what is the connection between the two and how are the two different. Pascal? Non-block based? A: Pascal is a simple procedural language, where blocks are not important, and can be used for both sequential and parallel programming. Python is a general purpose language, with support for object-oriented programming, with blocks (objects) as primitives. Pascal (and C, for that matter) is great for learning programming. It is easy to pick up and to understand, and it teaches you the fundamentals. Python (as is Java, Ruby, etc) is a much more powerful language. It can be used for everything you can think of, and more, and it requires a lot more education to get to grips with. Tuesday, April 11, 2012 The Key West Book Festival I am looking forward to the Key West Book Festival this week, so I thought I'd do some profile with some of the panelists for a book I have just published with Wiley and Sons. When I came up with the idea of starting this blog a year ago, I thought I'd be one of a kind. Who else is writing about books and libraries? That was a foolish notion on my part. So I am happy to meet my fellow travelers here. And I hope you'll meet me, as well. L-R Ann Lane, Bill Ditmars, me, Rich Piatt and Eric Frank, made up the panel, and all of us are going to the Key West Book Festival this week to meet with the public about our new book. If you are a person who loves libraries and books and librarians, you might be interested in the topic of this panel, which I call "Saving the Kingdom of Books." It was supposed to be a keynote session, but one of our panelists was late, and we changed the subject of the panel to a more manageable size. But to back up a bit, here's what brought all of us together in the first place. My old pal Eric Frank called me a few months ago and asked if I'd be interested in co-authoring a book with him, and it would cover the subject of the history of libraries in the United ac619d1d87
